Namaz, Quran, Qibla - and a Haram you can walk through

Ummah Connect puts the whole day of a practising Muslim in one app: prayer times that call the azaan on time, the complete Quran with verse-by-verse audio and offline reading, a Qaida course that starts at the letters, duas, tasbeeh, Zakat, Haj and Umrah guides, live Makkah and Madinah - and a 3D Virtual Haram you move through yourself.

What is inside

Sixteen tools, one quiet home screen

Nothing here is a link to a website in a frame. Every one of these is built into the app and most of them work with no internet at all.

Prayer Times & Azaan

Times for your own location, with the calculation method and the school of thought you follow. The azaan plays through a foreground service and survives a reboot, so Fajr does not quietly go missing.

Works offline

Qibla Compass

A live compass that points to the Kaaba from wherever you are standing, using your phone's own magnetometer.

Al-Quran

All 114 surahs in Indo-Pak script, with translation, verse-by-verse recitation, a page-flip that reads like a real mushaf, and downloads for reading with no signal.

Offline download

Learn Quran - Qaida

A staged course that begins at the individual letters, then harakat, then joining letters - each with its own audio, so a beginner can start from zero.

Dua & Azkar

Duas for the day, for namaz, and for occasions, in Arabic with transliteration and meaning. Search by voice if typing Arabic is slow.

Tasbeeh Counter

Set a target, keep the count, see your history - and put the counter on your home screen as a widget so you never open the app to tap once.

Home-screen widget

Zakat Calculator

Works from the actual rules rather than a single percentage box: gold, silver, cash, trade goods and what you owe.

Haj & Umrah Guide

Every step in order, from ihram to the farewell tawaf, written to be read on the day rather than studied beforehand.

Wudu Guide

The steps in sequence, with what invalidates it - the thing people look up most and find least often.

Rakat Chart

How many rakats for which prayer, fard and sunnah and nafl, in one screen you can settle an argument with.

99 Names of Allah

Asma-ul-Husna with meaning, in Arabic and in your language, readable at a pace rather than as a list to scroll past.

Live Makkah & Madinah

The live streams from the Haram and the Prophet's Mosque, for taraweeh, for Jumma, or for a quiet minute at 2am.

Virtual Haram in 3D

Not a photo and not a video: a real-time 3D Masjid al-Haram you walk through yourself, with the Kaaba, the plaza, the hills and pilgrims around you.

Nothing else has this

Nearby Mosques

Finds the mosques around you by handing the search straight to Google Maps, so the directions are the ones you already trust.

Hijri Calendar

Today's Hijri date on the dashboard, and the Jumma banner on Friday, so the Islamic date is never something you have to go and look up.

Dark by default

The whole app is built for a dark screen - because most of it gets opened before Fajr and after Isha, not at noon.

The one nobody else built

Walk into the Haram tonight

Most apps show you a photograph of Makkah. Ummah Connect renders the Masjid al-Haram in real time and hands you the controls. You walk the plaza yourself, climb the stairs, look up at the sky over the mosque, and watch the tawaf go round. It runs on the phone in your hand, with no headset and nothing to buy.

  • Real-time 3D - a rendered scene, not a 360 photo you can only spin
  • Walk with a joystick and look with a pad, like a game you already know how to play
  • The Kaaba, the plaza, the surrounding hills and the pilgrims doing tawaf
  • Time of day and weather in the scene change what it feels like
  • Built for a phone - it runs on the GPU your phone already has
Start from zero

A Qaida that begins at the first letter

Most Quran apps assume you can already read Arabic. This one does not. The Qaida course starts with a single letter and its sound, then the harakat that change it, then how letters join into words - and only then a surah. Each stage has its own audio, recorded letter by letter, so a learner with nobody to sit beside them can still hear it done correctly.

  • Letters first, with the sound of each one on tap
  • Harakat - the marks that change how a letter is read
  • Joining letters, which is where most self-taught readers stall
  • Staged lessons, so you always know what comes next
  • Works for a child and for an adult starting late

What the app does with your data

Short version: there is no account, nothing of yours is uploaded to us, and the app does show ads. The long version is on the privacy page and it matches the source code.

It all stays on the phone

Your settings, your calculation method, your tasbeeh counts and your downloaded Quran audio live on your device. There is no server of ours holding any of it.

No account, ever

You never sign up, never give an email, never log in. The app has no user accounts at all - so there is nothing of yours for anyone to take.

Yes, there are ads

The app is free and carries Google AdMob ads on a few screens. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID. The privacy page says where they appear and how to limit them.

Stories & Hadith

Stories from the life of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, his Companions, and the Prophets before him — written to be read, not studied.

Questions

The things people actually ask

Is it free?

Yes. Ummah Connect is free on Google Play with no paid tier, no subscription and no unlock. It is paid for by ads on a few screens. Install it here.

Does the azaan really go off on time?

That is the part the app works hardest at. The azaan runs from a scheduled exact alarm and a foreground service, and re-registers itself after a reboot. Android will still silence it if your phone is aggressively optimising battery for the app - so on first run the app asks to be exempted, and you should say yes. The support page lists the settings to check if a prayer is still being missed.

Will it work with no internet?

Most of it, yes. Prayer times, the Qibla compass, duas, the tasbeeh counter, Zakat, the guides, the rakat chart and the 99 names all work fully offline. The Quran can be downloaded for offline reading and listening. Live Makkah and Madinah, the Virtual Haram's first load, and the ads need a connection.

Which calculation method does it use for prayer times?

Yours. You pick the calculation method and the school of thought (which is what changes Asr) in Settings, and the times are computed on your phone from your location. If the app's time disagrees with your local mosque, change the method rather than assuming the app is broken - mosques differ, and the app can match yours.

What is the Virtual Haram, exactly?

A 3D scene of the Masjid al-Haram rendered live on your phone, which you move through yourself with an on-screen joystick. It is not a video and not a 360 photo. It needs a reasonably recent phone to be smooth.

Do I need to make an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no login and no profile. Nothing you do in the app is tied to an identity, because the app does not have one for you.

Which Android versions does it run on?

Android 7.0 and newer. The current release is version 2.0.0.

Something in a dua or a translation looks wrong. What do I do?

Tell us and it gets fixed - religious content is the one thing we will not leave wrong. Mail reviewummahconnect@gmail.com with the screen and what it should say.
